It's snowing. In upstate New York. Once you pick your jaws up from the floor, you can continue.
Anyway, it's Thursday - my favorite day of the week. Why is Thursday my favorite day you might wonder? Because of bowling.
That's right - bowling. I'm addicted. I'm not quite certain why, but I am.
I think the main reason is because of the competitiveness that I derive from our weekly league matchups. While most people are having fun socializing, I'm headbutting Mike to get myself fired up. Between you and I - I hope I'm not named in the Mitchell investigation. (For unsubstantiated rumors and dick jokes check the following post threads: With Leather, Deadspin, The Big Lead)
I wrote about the league a few months ago after my first night. Back then we were 0-10 and in last place. I was carrying a 114 average that was dragged down by three shitty games under my name by Brian. Thanks, Brian - you rock!
Now, 3 months later, we're in 4th place with a 29-31 record. That's right, since week 2, we're on a 29-21 tear! We're the hottest team in the league! To give you a frame of reference, the number 1 team is 32-18 over that time. I don't know why I'm telling you all of this.
Oh yeah, the snow. If bowling is canceled tonight because of this snow, I'll sit in my living room and weep. I'll rest my head on Justin's shoulder and have a good cry. So that's what's going on with me. Feel free to tell everyone about your day in the comments.

Snow Bowling

Bowling may be the only sport with a perfect record in terms of movies (loosely) based upon it. Off the top of my head, I can only think of two movies with bowling serving as the backdrop, and they are two standouts: The Big Lebowski and Kingpin. Maybe billiards has a similar record, depending on your view of "The Color of Money", but most other sports have mixed success in movies. For every "Slap Shot", there is a "Youngblood". For every "Hoop Dreams", there is an "Eddie". I could go on, but fuck it man, let's go bowling.
get ready for more snow this weekend.
