A Sexy Correction

At heart, I'm a journalist. I'm a journalist with a "lighter slant" on current events, but I still believe in the tenants of journalism: crediting sources, getting the facts straight, wearing a hat like this, etc.

Sure, I try to keep this site humorous, but when I'm trying to inform you guys I want to get things right. That's why I'm here today with a correction.

On the weekend of my debut with The Big Lead (have I mentioned that yet?) during a Google search of everyone's favorite female American Gladiator, Helga Crush I found this picture and linked to it saying it was MMA fighter Gina Carano.

I was wrong.

Turns out that nice looking girl is a member of the first family of Mixed Martial Arts.

Yup, she's a Gracie.

Kyra Gracie to be specific. In addition to not being to hard on the eyes, Kyra is a blackbelt in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu as well as the niece of Renzo, Ralph and Ryan. She's the great-granddaughter of Carlos Gracie, the man who is credited with starting it all. (It's amazing to think that Carlos had time to invent MMA since he must have been sort of busy siring 21 children - 12 of whom became black belts.)

So in the future whenever you see this girl remember, she's not Gladiator, but she could still beat you up if she wanted to.

Editor's note: Can you believe I made it all the way through this post without making the "knockout" joke?
